DC Sneakers

If you love to skateboard, snowboard, or do any other extreme sports, then DC is the shoe for you. DC sneakers have a low, foot-hugging profile so that they will not get in the way of any stunt you want to attempt. Also, their wide base provides you with better traction and stability on your skateboard. Since their creation in the early 1990’s, DC shoes has become so synonymous with extreme sports that an entire fashion line has risen around them that appeals to skateboarders and other urban dwellers.

DC works to focus the limelight on the most promising young boarders and daredevils. Often one of them will be granted his own line of signature shoes. Currently featured is skateboarder Ryan King. His shoes come in a variety of colors ranging from mustard, to purple, to white. The upper is made of suede with lots of perforated panels for maximum breathability. The interior is amply padded with a heel hugging cup sole that should keep your shoes on your feet regardless of your activity. The outer sole is made from a rubber that is stickier than most other sneaker brands. DC knows that its consumers need that extra traction to keep their feet on the skateboard. The other current DC sneakers signature model features Rob Dyrdeck.

Almost all DC sneakers are of the low rise variety. You can occasionally find a mid or high rise variety, but these don’t give you the ankle flexibility that you need to perform extreme sports. The variations that make DC sneakers so go for extreme sports limit their abilities to perform in other athletic endeavors. For instance, their all-round padding system is great for absorbing shock on a board, but will not stand up to the repetitive pressure of running. This same padding means that a lot of DC wearers choose to do so without socks. If you choose this option, just make sure that you wash your shoes regularly.

The styles of most DC sneakers are hip and urban without going over the top. They are great for boarding around campus.
