Sneaker Gallery
There are so many sneakers available in today’s market. There are literally hundreds of brands from
which to choose. You can get sneakers for running, jogging, or walking. There are sneakers specially designed for
every sport you could conceivably play. All of these sneakers come in a rainbow of colors and designs. Your
possibilities for comfortable active footwear are endless. Imagine for a moment, that you are walking down a
sneaker gallery. At which shoes would you stop?
This sneaker gallery would probably be divided between men’s and women’s sneakers. On the men’s
side you would see a lot of specialty sneakers that have been specifically engineered to provide the best
performance in each type of sport. The running shoes would have greater heel cushioning. The basketball shoes would
have gel or air inserts for extra lift when jumping. The skateboarding shoes would be wide and sticky-soled.
However, the women’s side would have just as many choices, but they would be dictated by fashion rather than use.
Women’s sneakers are generally a more all-round affair. They provide maximum comfort and support throughout the
entire foot so you can enjoy any activity you choose.
The ultimate sneaker gallery would have rooms devoted to the evolution of sneaker fashion and
sneaker function. The fashion sneaker section would have designer sneakers by the liked of Fendi, Ralph Lauren, and
Coach. These sneakers are, of course, well made, but their appeal lies in their artwork rather than their
technology. If you were looking for technology in this sneaker gallery, you would probably see cut-away
illustrations of Nike’s air cushion technology or Avia’s endurance sports Cantilever system.
In the sneaker gallery there would also be space reserved for customized sneakers; limited release
lines by artists or customer-created sneakers using the latest computerized printing technology. You could also see
a line-up of sneakers through the ages, starting with the first pairs of Keds and Chuck Taylors, progressing to the
sneakers worn by James Dean on the silver screen, and then on to the first release of Air Jordans. While yet to be
created, a sneaker gallery would be a wonderful place for any footwear aficionado.
